Great!
Great video you guys!… hehehe. I love your ability to act like me in front of a mirror Rick. I feel for ya man… Seriously. I do feel your pain. Not exactly like you. But close enough. Does your clock suddenly turn into a dang fan too?, not a fanatic clapping or giving you standing ovations. Just spinning wildly?. I feel like I’ve ruined women too. And some of em tried to ruin me right back!, you too?. And the “disease called more”, you have that too?. Dang, that’s rough. We can recover from that easy. There are tons of cool Dali Lama video’s I bet you’ve already watched on youtube. I just discovered them last nite. Great stuff about compassion.
I’m clicking on pause, writing, then watching more of the video.
Dr. Jain, I think I might be in the process of discovering another thing I really love to do. I used to work as a Sues chef, and Carpenter. But maybe now I might be turning into a sound man for live music. I get to roll around the hall, or “gig”, or church to check the sound in spots. Then tweek the sound board a little, mostly I just sit n listen. Fun Fun galore, cuz I’m trying to read the directions while paying attention to the band.
I’ll start working on writing a description of what a nearly perfect day would look like for me. That’s hard. That will help me to get out of bed on a regular schedule. And just be tired enough to sleep better at night hopefully.
Hmm, yep. I do think I’m weird. I understand the medication is just a facilitator, a very important one for me. I hope to make time to watch the rest of these videos tomorrow.
Only about 4 or 5 months ago I used to feel like every day is saturday. That’s sometimes how life becomes if you’re very old n retired. Or disabled. Nowadays I’m really building a life. Got places to show up 6 days a week. I finally feel like It’s important to other people for me to show up to places. Not just self indulgence. Folks can actually depend on me. That doesn’t sound like much I know. But to me it’s a lot.
Thanks you guys.
Robbo.
A fabulous video – thank you! An excellent reminder and many great tips.
I “plan” what I call maniac days, unfortunately too seldom and usually in my garden. It was really amplified in this vide, that I need a reminder not to let precious days off vanish. My husband can be fairly OCD so when I have my maniac days he goes a little crazy and sometimes I postpone because of this.
The incredible sense of release that I feel spending a day digging and with plants, along with the quiet creative energy is so rejuvenating. Note that I have a small Toronto city garden, on a corner, so it’s small, however wonderfully revitalizing and fairly social.
Planning, planning, planning…. have the plants, the soil, the watering can full, accepting of the muddy kitchen floor as I reach for seeds etc., and let the cats in and out to garden with me. Heavenly… I must “plan” another “random” day of gardening day soon!
I appreciate the spelled-out instructions for creating my “Lifestyle Plan”, and the reminder that it will take time to acquire new constructive habits to replace the decades-ingrained sabotaging habits. This has been the most helpful video I’ve watched so far.
Yes, the weekends that I love the most are those that are planned and that I have planned things in there that I love. Usually I DON’T plan though and then feel like a failure when I haven’t accomplished much.
I will plan next weekend!!
This is pretty good!
Spot on, Dr. J! Thank you so much for this.
Um… The best weekends away I’ve ever had were totally unstructured. They were the most relaxed and fun and memorable ones because I wasn’t stressed out by having a schedule.
I cannot begin to thank you both for your wonderful overview. I had given up in working on some things and was feeling discouraged because I don’t seem to have progressed much in the last five years. I am really looking forward to the next two videos on meds as I realise that I need to revisit mine and want to be informed when I talk to my doc.
This entire website has been so helpful. thank you so much.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO, is very nicely done. Thank you VERY much for your kind words!
