They started me on 20mg adderall xr once a day early AM (I take it at 5am, an hour before I go to work)
I’ve since gotten a paper from my neuro-psych that shows adderall only lasts in the system 8-12 hours. That means you take it in the AM, the first bit kicks in right away, the second bit kicks in after abotu 4 hours, then after another 4, it’s gone.
With me, I find early to mid afternoon it was as if I’d never taken it. Now after almost 4 weeks, my body has adapted and it’s like I don’t take anyting at all.
So they are doubling it – 20mg first thing in the AM, then another 20 at noon. WOW. That’s 40 a day!
As of end of this coming week, I’ll take a 20mg XR at 5am, then at 9am, the later release bit kicks in, and I take another 20 at noon, just before the first has totally worn off.
I hve found it worked a little bit the fist 2 weeks then lost its impact.
