never heard of jin shin do – i’ve had cranial sacral massage (part of ortho treatment and prep for my surgery) and went on with the same person for swedish massage – she used to make my neck muscles feel like butter. Unfortunately it never lasted long – she also made my low back pain worse. I found a book called The Trigger Point Workbook (Claire Davis) and it has saved me many trips to an RMT. I used to go to a Japanese style acupuncturist who also did bowen therapy with me, and he said “I can get rid of the trigger points in one session, but you keep re-triggering them – you need to figure out why and how” so that’s what got me started with TPT. By identifying and working the trigger points, I have been able to self-treat a lot of pain that was only muscle-related.

I also trained in thai yoga massage – it’s quite good for releasing tension too.

The homeopaths spend a lot of time talking with you about your personal health to determine what might be underlying causes so they can suggest a possible remedy (it’s not one size fits all) – in contrast, your GP probably spends less than two minutes and treats the symptoms without addressing the cause. I’m not saying homeopathy is better or a repkacement for allopathic medicine, it’s a different approach. The royal family has used homeopathic doctors for years. It’s the AMA, apparently, that banned docs from associating in any way with homeopaths at the turn of the last century. Shame, I think.

Look into the training and background of the hom doc before leaping in.
