Brief history ADHD my whole life officially diagnose 3 yrs ago… PTSD about a year ago.. counseling only for both

Please offer your suggestions … I tried to get back into work mode revisited work station and related items just to feel things out MISTAKE ..Huge flashbacks whacked me yesterday afternoon and last night.. I have never felt such an overpowering feeling.. I went from normal to a frozen state to continuous and constant snapshots of the attack and all the feelings associated with it including both emotional and physical tension…. It then carried over to last night where if i closed my eyes I would dream about the incident and then the bizarre thing is…….. I lost the fight in my dreams to where the attacker actually was able to slice me and I bleed and fall to the ground.. The attacker turns and walks towards kids with the blade open at his side and he is re adjusting his hood to hide his face…(I remember seeing them the kids during the real attack and was a little concerned they might cross the street but they did not as there mother called them from her window)

Then every time i woke up last night (4 times) i remember I was in a startled state. I do not know if I if I lived or died in the dream or what happened to my attacker, kids and etc ,,, Weird YA THINK when I hit the ground in my dream there is a wooshing sound only and when I look around the witnesses are not clear as they were during real attack but now they get blurry and distorted. Now it is morning YEP call T for sure but the dilemma…

Should I not be able to take a ADHD med like Stattera and Cymbalta for GAD. The T and Psyche are concerned about the stimulant like effects would trigger other issues blah blah I am appreciative of there concerns but if anyone has success in overcoming these two diseases and what treatments you have experienced success in it would be appreciated. Any documented resources would be appreciated as well. I have read a few articles about these issues but I question the thoroughness, detail and validity of the studies I have viewed.

Can ADHD be causing greater sensations……. stronger symptoms?

When I was experiencing the worst of the flashbacks I started taking the Resperidal. This got a lot of those under control. I also was on Wellebutrin to give me a sense of excitement and well being. Now I functioned on automatic pilot for almost a year and then went off the meds. So I don’t no whether it got rid of the flashbacks or whether I just had more time to stifle them but I felt relief from the worst of the flashbacks. Of course my PTSD had been caused a lot earlier and it had been a long time for me so it may not work for you as yours is so much more recent.

Are you currently on any ADHD meds? Have you been on any in the past in conjunction with your PTSD meds ?
