I know my concentration is a little better but the rest of my life is a “mess”. How do I know if I am taking an appropriate dose to help with symptoms? Is there an end point/ceiling in the dose? How do I know I am not there or there? I have spoken with my psychiatrist and we bumped the dose to 20mg in the morning and 10mg at 3:00PM. I have gotten an ADD Coach and am making a lot of changes. It would seem logical to look at a list of my symptoms, rate how much of a negative influence they have on my life and then compare later down the line after the increase in dose. Just what is the range for symptom improvement and how do you know when you’re there?

I would say, you know you’ve reached max benefit if either you reach that max. dose for you weight or however it’s calculated for your drug, or the adverse effects outweigh the benefits (e.g., you’re so anxious that it’s interfering with your concentration.) Although, it seems that doctors still up the dose even when the presenting side effects concern the patient, so I would want Dr. J’s opinion on my post.
