Caffeine and decongestants have always made me anxious. I have used this piece of knowledge to rule out having ADHD during my lifetime, albeit lifetime concentration problems. I have been doing a lot of research, but cannot find the answer here. Perhaps, there is no answer as caffeine is a different type of stimulant. I wouldn’t bother because I am a high achieving A student. However, school work has always consumed my life because it is so time-consuming. As long as I do not work and go to school at the same time, I have had the time to burn with disorganization and losing focus. However, this time is past. I am a new graduate nurse practitioner and my time inefficiency and concentration problems cause me to make 6 hour shifts into 12 hour shifts! I am concerned that I will not be able to move up to the 8 hour shifts and will not succeed in my job. I leave all my paperwork for the end of the day because I get so distracted and cannot focus on it until there is quiet. Also, my progress notes take me a ridiculously long time because I need to reorganize them and correct all the small errors I make before I submit them. I never thought I would want any type of stimulant anywhere near my body as I have always been a hyper and anxious person, but I am a bit desperate now.

    thank you

    =)
