I’m suspecting I may have ADD but am not sure yet. I’ve taken Daniel Amen’s test and I’m on the cusp.

I want to get tested but the only way to do so without cost in Toronto is to goto a psychiatrist (as opposed to psychologist etc). I’m not finding many psychiatrists though, and the ones I’ve found aren’t taking new clients. Can anyone recommend any doctors?

    Best,

    Daanish

Your family doctor should be able to give you a referal. In some cases he/she may be qualified to diagnose you themselves.

speak to your family doctor first.

and you should know that add/adhd testing is not covered by ohip. even by a psychiatrist.

Reguardless of cost it is worth the price. I paid 800.00 and have no regrets. But do have assessment completed by psychiatrist who specializes in ADHD tx.

A quick google search came up with a place that takes OHIP on the first page of the google results.

caper – that s an interesting link. i think the ohip covereged mentioned there is for children//teens.

i was told adults could take adhd testing via a computer program and that it takes hours to complete.

but i have add and therefore won’t be sitting in front of computer doing more quizes and paying approx 1500$

this testing happens at the specialist’s office

andria: my family doctor in NS sat me in front of his computer in his office to take the test. It took less than 10 minutes.

My visit was completely covered. The questions were the same as the ones below, plus about 10 more yes/no health questions.
