As a 6’2″ adult weighing 280 pounds my physicians have recognized there is a rational basis for higher or more frequent dosing of my anti0-seizure and anti-hypertensive medications, but my family physician and most board-certified psychiatrists seem to want to dose me as if I am a 30-40 kg child. How do I provide a resource, reference, or rational basis for dosing?

Before my clinic lost federal funding for their adult ADHD service I was on 36mg Concerta, bid, and generic Adderall, 10 mg, qid, 2 after the AM Concerta and two after the Noontime Concerta dose.

The other issue is that despite not being depressed or anxious, many physicians suggest switching to these medications, despite being documented treatment failures in the past.

    What to do?

    Thank you.
