I am 18 years old seeking adhd help. My resources are very limited, but where can I find a good psychiatrist in Maryland?

Do you or your family have medical insurance? If so, do you have a primary doctor? That would be a good place to start for a recommendation. The fellow that I used to see has retired. You might also check with your local CHADD group, I’ll bet you could go online with CHADD and your location in Maryland. If you don’t have access to insurance they would be a good group to help you. Good Luck !

There is an ADD Association of America (add.org) in Wilmington, DE. At least that’s the address they’ve posted. They claim to have an extensive database of resources—presumably for people residing in the United States. You might want to navigate to their website and see if they can give you some advice…

Oh, and since you’re in MD, don’t forget Johns Hopkins. As America’s leading research hospital, they’ve got research projects going on CONSTANTLY. You might check to see if they have an ADD study you can sign up for. I think they actually pay a little something to their guinea pigs. Hey, lookie here: http://www.hopkinsbayview.org/studies/
