I suffer from angio-oedema (and more) and when I have an angio-oedema attack I’m totally ADD. TOTALLY!
Now my allergist told me I’m ‘histamine intolerant’.
And this diagnosis fits me to a tee! (hmmm is that correct english!?)
Diet and allergie pills help me more than the Ritalin I’m taking! I’m hoping this may help some of you.

No focus, hanwriting/typing BAD, going to the toilet but finding myself opening the fridge, the world looks hazy to me
Damn, I reaaly believe now that the solution/relief is in food and nobody’s listening.

I believe you are making the common mistake of equating co-relation with causality.

‘While histamine release is known to be involved in the sneezing, coughing and runny noses associated with the common cold, the authors noted that this compound also affects transmission of nerve signals in the brain. They explained that children with these gene variations had trouble degrading the histamine released by their bodies in response to the food additives and that the neurological effects caused by the excess histamine resulted in increased symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).’
(I too have a formal diagnosis, and never thought I had allergies. I do, just not the classic sneezing, itching and stuff..)

I am a firm believer in eating as healthy as I can. My Naturopath gave me a list of good food for me and toxic food for me….it has made a huge difference in my health. Now I’m a 30 year gym rat……I ate/eat better than any damn Canada Food guide, but I still needed to make some changes. At 61 I’ve built up a lot of stuff in the old bod!!!!
Anyway, I just posted in another thread that I’m a food label reader…..BIG TIME…..not the promo shit on the front, but the FDA stuff in small print on the back of the package, the the real information. I am very conscious of what I push down my neck…… it makes a huge difference to my overall health and wellness.
I too have histamine issues, so I have to be careful for those reasons too. But regardless of that, I am always always trying to eat food in it’s natural state, stay away from processed food, and read read read labels if is packaged at all. That’s just me though….
Be mindful, they don’t care about our health, they care about profit………and profit only!!!

Mostly, our diet is what we or friends grow or raise .. except for basics like olive oil and coffee etc.
Good point about reading lables … reading the Carnivours Dilema .. good info about food we eat.

It’s quite hard for me to stick to this new diet, but it makes me feel so much better (and focussed!). So I guess it’s worth it! Treating myself with vegetable/fruitshakes now instead of beers or blue cheese
