I’ve been taking 5mg of Adderall for approximately 9 months. My anxiety is up and I’m having trouble focusing on tasks. To make matter worse, my inner gerbil is getting lots of exercise on his wheel, because I’m spending so much time thinking about tasks and not getting them done. I’ve also been taking more Aprazolam to calm me down and deal with other issues such a I.B. and migraine. Do I need to see my doctor about increasing my medicine?

This is a question to ask your doctor. It could be that your dose needs to be changed (perhaps lowered instead of raised, since you’re having such anxiety), or that Adderall isn’t the right med for you, after all.

    See your doctor, ASAP.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll call my doctor to see if I can get an earlier appointment than my schedule one. I just feel better knowing I can get advice from people going through similar experiences.

I’m taking adderall primarily because of my uncontrollable anxiety and for mood stabilization, and I know that if I don’t take it/I don’t take enough my anxiety isn’t soothed and sometimes heightened (weird that a stimulant would stop my anxiety when anxiety medication couldn’t, eh?). I hope that adjusting your medication (probably up) and talking to your doctor helps :)

I tried increasing my medication for a couple of days to see if it could make a difference. I know I shouldn’t do this without seeing my doctor first – however I’m back to my regular dosage again. Here’s the weird part – my anxiety went down and I could think more clearly. :D I left a message with my doctor’s secretary and will follow up again today.

I’m glad! Let us know how that goes.
