I’ve done the hangnail thing since I was about six. I only knew three or four other kids who also did it, but now that I think about it they were all ADD too. One was extremely hyperactive–the kid who got up and wandered around the room. UNAFRAID!

I was always afraid to do that kind of thing, but damn I wanted to!
