she is reluctant to even consider restarting anything because I am now on beta-blockers. Cant find anyone in the Hamilton/Burlington area to see me to re assess and help me make new decisions, or find another med. Usually it is because I am out of the catchment area. I live in Hamilton, dr is in Burlington. Is Dr Jain available? Thank you

do as much online research re meds as you can. speak with a pharmacist you trust…they are an awesome resource.
channel your energy into your research, bring what you’ve learned to your doc and then have a responsible convo with her.
and take things one day at a time. i know how it feels when you want things fixed yesterday, but slow and steady wins da race.
REPORT ABUSEAugust 20, 2011 at 6:40 pm #106819thank you andria, I have done all those things. My pharmacist was very helpful with research, and came up with a couple of ideas which I took to my dr. about Wellbutrin, complete with articles and studies. Dr said she would not put me on that much Wellbutrin. There did not seem to be, in my own research and the pharmacists, more drugs that were suitable. I am trying to be patient, but this has been months. Everything is a dead end. I am going to call directly to the centre for addiction and mental health in Toronto to try to reach Dr Jain, I have gotten no response from posts here about that. ,,maybe I wasnt supposed to get any. In all it has been more than 6 months.

that’s funny about the wellbutrin. i was on 300mg and it worked well for about a month then stopped. so now i’m taking 5mg ritalin 3x a day. it’s just ok. i’m so sleepy on it. so i am going to try adderall next week 5mg. (all discussed with my family doc) i also have borderline high bp that i take atenolol for. and i’m also a super light weight when it comes to all meds.
have you had an eeg/ekg? i’m just curious, that’s all.
dr jain only treats children now. actually, the last time i was there (feb 2011) there was not one single adult add/adhd specialist based out of camh. crazy huh?
anyways, i obviously don’t know your whole medical history, but if i were you i’d really consider wellbutrin xr 150mg – even the older version sr.
i don’t have a pdoc either and i live in toronto and it is frustrating. it came to the point where my fam doc had to do some homework to help me and we are getting thru this. slowly.
