Well, the last few days I’ve been thinking of ways to get to work on my supply room which is such a mess that I really can only go about three feet into the room before I hit a pile–a BIG pile, too–of boxes of fabric, etc, piled on other boxes of fabric, etc. I decided one way to begin would be to get some large wastebaskets (they’re about 30″ high by 8×12 inches wide/deep. I recycle wool fabric and wool sweaters for use in my dolls/animals, and if I don’t cut them into pieces, it takes up lots of room. So, to begin, I will cut up the clothing and put the knits in one basket, wovens in another, and small scraps of cotton fabric (non triangle scraps–triangles have a different place to go) in the third. I think I will like this way of storing, because it’s a lot like the piles I make, but contained, so stuff won’t be able to slip off like it does in a regular old pile. I will, no doubt, need more wastebaskets, but three will get me started. I’ll let you know how it goes.
