Bellamom,

If you read the latest literature on stimulants and cardiac risk it has concluded that in most patients

it presents no significant increase in overall risk. (unless you have some heart defect)

My GP monitors my BP and if it rises with increases in Concerta dose he is going to adjust my anti-hypertensive

medication. It is a risk benefit decision. If my ADD symptoms are better managed then I stay on it.

The ADD specialist just focuses on managing my ADD meds. I have to make sure that I am following up with my GP as well
