It’s quite overwhelming to discover that you may have spent your whole life with a medical condition you never suspected you had, and which has affected you in so many ways. As has been pointed out in several Blogs and Videos, getting a proper diagnosis is critical, because, without it, you can’t seek proper treatment.

The tests here are based on the actual tests that are used by psychologists & psychiatrists to diagnose ADHD. They’re just a bit less overwhelming, because they’re designed for use by the potential patients, rather than doctors.

The banner pointing to the tests is important because so many people arrive here, unsure of what to do or how to find out if they might indeed have ADHD. Besides, if you do have it, you may not be able to find the tests without a clear banner leading to them.

I think the “see how you score” part and the little cartoon doctor are just ways of making the tests seem less threatening.

The tests here are intended to be a starting point. Something to take to your doctor to discuss. That way, you’ll have an answer when your doctor says, “What makes you think you might have ADHD?” Your doctor will then ask more questions, and send you to a specialist for proper diagnostic testing. They are not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice.
