I , too, find that it’s easy to blame ADD symptoms on other things: for instance, I thought the reason I talked too much at times was because I was so shy as a child, that I was “making up for lost time.” I thought that the reason I always needed to have something to do, and couldn’t just bide my time just sitting, was because, with six kids, there were years when I didn’t EVER get to do ANY of the spare-time things I like to do: knitting, sewing, etc. Again, I thought I was “making up for lost time.” If we don’t know about something, we explain things to ourselves as best we can.
