A doctor told me that parkinson’s involves a lack of dopamine in the brain… Are we all doomed to this?

My father had ADHD and OCD and Parkinsons. I’ve wondered the same.

oh goodie I know this one! lol

when I was studying massage therapy some years ago we were taught that Parkinson’s involved dopamine and I thought “OH $HIT”

when I asked Dr. J. he explained that there are different types of dopamine receptors and the ones involved with Parkinson’s are not the same ones involved with ADHD

hope you can sleep better tonight. ;-)

My grandma had Parkinson’s, but it was in her about her last year of life, so I guess I don’t really have to worry about it. I did not know that ADHD has to do with dopamine? I used to have shaky hands for a few years, but it seems to have subsided to a normal amount (i.e. only when nervous while using fine motor skills).
