My therapist doesn’t know anything about ADD or sleep disorders, and we’re just finding out more about how these are affecting me. But as Carrie says, he is helpful in helping me figure out what’s going on, and what I can do to live with it or deal with it, if something can be done. It’s great to know that there’s someone to talk to when you don’t know what to do about how you feel, (or don’t even know WHAT you feel) and feel you can’t deal with it yourself.

I posted about going off meds. The positive affects outnumber the negative side effects. I’m on Ritalin. Maybe it’s both together that are causing the problem. Too high too fast. I’m just on Ritalin 20 mg. I’m studying the effect and what time I take them. I think you need to start over and take it slow. Work with your doctor.

Gameguy, im in agreement with the others and therapy. And carrie about communicating what you want from the sessions.

No dopamine, what web blocking software do you use? I may consider that.

Carrie, my sleep too!!! 3 hours of sleep last night to carry me through a 14hour workday. It is getting so bad that i called my doc today. I always have some type of insomnia but this is really bad and bad for my health. I didnt have this issue until this month. Blah. So i am going to need to come off of it for a bit to see if that is the problem. So blah on more wasted afternoons staring at the computer screens getting nothing done.

hi sugargremlin, I was wondering where you went to! Yes, the blocking software is really great, just don’t circumvent it by using another browser. I take it as a firm reminder that I should NOT be surfing when I’ve got it set to block me. It’s called Leechblock, and it’s an add-on for Firefox – makes using Firefox worth it. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/leechblock/ I haven’t mastered the art of setting it up for brief periods every hour or so, when I did, I would just see a post here I wanted to reply to, and then when I was halfway through my reply, leechblock prevented me from accessing the site. I haven’t been as active as a result – guess it’s working!

Have started a sleep log so I have more data when I see the sleep specialist for my follow up in 2 weeks. I’m just using a simple small coilbound memo pad, one page a day, that helps curb my penchant for turning the organizing and tracking into a major time-sucking project. 🙄

I have chrome, but I will consider switching over to save hours of my life! Part of not coming here as much is being much more productive thanks to the meds I can’t have right now >_<. saves me during the day. at night, still having those issues going to bed.. but now, those hours are spent with my boyfriend lol. major upgrade from mindless internet surfing, but same sleep graph consequences lol.

LOL no dopamine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hard call because I know me very well and would have to delete both other browsers. If I were leech blocked, i would just open up another browser >_< way to fight against yourself!

hmmm – I will have to look at chrome again, I am liking firefox though, with the themes at the top of the browser. The thing I don’t like is how it goes directly to something when you type a phrase in the url box rather than presenting you with suggestions.

I am able to resist opening another browser, but yes, it did cross my mind that if I couldn’t, I would have to delete the other browsers. But you know, I am enjoying being forced off the computer – I bought 5 new books this week and the only way I am ever going to read them is if I get off the darned computer!
