A new therapy (well, new to me) has been unleashed in the ADHD world: Meta-Cognitive Therapy
“Dr. Doug” raves about it here: http://newideas.net/adhd/adult-adhd-potential-new-treatment
but he doesn’t say what’s different about it.
Here’s the difference: “Meta-cognitive therapy intervention uses cognitive-behavioral principles and methods to teach skills and strategies in time management, organization, and planning and to target depressive and anxious thoughts that undermine effective self-management, Dr. Solanto and colleagues explain in an article in the American Journal of Psychiatry published online March 15.”

To me, this is cognitive behavioral training (CBT) + coaching, a strategy already common in ADHD.
