    Hello,

    I was just recently diagnosed about a month and a half ago with ADHD. Started on Adderall 20mg XR once a day and now am up to Adderall 40mg XR twice a day (80mg XR a day total). The first two days I felt I was a bit more calm intermittently, but that was it. After the first few days I have no effect at all which I am confused about because of the high dose. It’s not a tolerance issue, I haven’t been on it that long. I am not looking for any stimulant or euphoric feeling. I am just confused as to how I can be on this high dose and the only thing I notice is a decreased appetite. Besides that it’s like I took nothing at all. I’ve also never used any illegal stimulants so that’s not the issue. Anyone else have this happen to them?

    Not sure where to go next as far as medication wise, my doctor gives me a lot of options but I’m not sure which is best. My goal is to be able to sit and focus in class and be able to sit and study.

    Adderral does nothing but appetite suppression for me. Concerta just makes me shakey. The only luck I’ve had is with Ritalin, though I think my dose is too low. It’s different for everyone, but I’d suggest trying a different kind if it’s not working for you. Good luck!
