Hi, I am not sure if this has been asked yet or not but I am having a hard time staying focused to go thru all the posts to find out. I am 32 years old and I was diagnosed with ADHD and my parents refused to put me on treatment saying that it would make me into a zombie and they didn’t want that for me. I didn’t even know I had it until I read thru the paperwork that I demanded from the school when I was 18. I read thru it several years later and found that in the paperwork. I have been denying that I have a problem but I have had many and I do mean many jobs and many huge gaps in employment and that is making it hard to get a job and then get insurance. I am now researching ADHD and not able to find help for someone that has no income and no insurance I am on a thin line with my parents as far as living situation and no help from them. I am totally on the brink. I need big time help and I don’t know how I am going to get it. Oh and I live in Watauga, Texas

You may qualify for medicaid (ie state/federal funded healthcare). If you have medicaid, you can get community mental health services with very low copays. In the Arizona community mental health system, people pay about $3-5 to see a provider and $4 per prescription. this system is actually poorly funded and disjointed, so maybe Texas is better?
