Has anyone had any success with pressure vests? Originally designed for Asperger’s, this vest is like a constant hug (but without having to get too close to a person.

Let me know if you find out anything. I keep feeling I’d like something like that, or being wrapped in a blanket.

I’ve never heard of this before for people but the local pet food store sells something similar for dogs. I was tempted to try it because one of my dogs is a bit of a stressed out nut case but then I figured it was along the lines of snake oilerie! However, I did notice said problem dog seems to like wearing his winter coat in the house which is made of snug fitting material. So hence I was tempted but decided to save the 60 bucks. Anyway, if it is intended to relieve anxiety I can experiment on the dog for you :-) Sorry I not meaning to make fun or anything, the jacket thing seriously crossed my mind for the dog!

Yes – they are sold for dogs. See: http://www.thundershirt.com/lpc2/

It may well be the same process as Temple Grandin’s famous hug machine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hug_machine
