AnonymousInactiveFebruary 26, 2011 at 1:01 pmPost count: 14413I have been on strattera for about 6 months now and have noticed that since starting my digestive system has slowed down. I remember reading someone else’s post about the same issue… but I have found a solution.
Quaker sells a few different muffin mixes and I happened to pick up the honey bran one once for something different. I made up the whole package, you just add water and mix until everything is wet, do not ever over mix muffins it makes them too heavy. I sprayed my muffin tin with pam and filled all 12 spots with muffin mix rather than making 24 muffins. You bake them for 20 mins at 3:75 and you have yummy muffins.
I have 1 with breakfast and my pill and another at night for an evening snack and by the next morning everything is ready to go.
having 1 a day will work but 2 a day is ideal.
If you enjoy baking you can buy bran flakes and make muffins from scratch and add your own flavors. I am going to try blueberry bran and chocolate chip bran, I just need to look through my recipes and find a bran muffin one.
I hope this helps others.
REPORT ABUSEFebruary 26, 2011 at 4:21 pm #101310Try Red River Cereal. It looks like birdseed, and it has a lovely nutty flavour. It consists entirely of whole grains (including whole flaxseed), so it’s super-high in fibre. I put it in a little Pyrex bowl, with milk or water, and a pinch of salt. Then, I nuke it for about 90 seconds; stir, and top with a little brown sugar or maple syrup, and milk.
Something else to try: Catelli Smart Pasta (in the purple boxes). It’s white pasta, with extra fibre (from oats) added. It tastes just like white pasta, but it has 9 grams of fibre per serving, which is 3 more than whole-wheat pasta.

AnonymousInactiveFebruary 26, 2011 at 4:58 pmPost count: 14413I have texture issues with foods and can not handle red river cereal or many other things.
the muffins work great and are a tasty addition to my breakfast so I’ll stick with them
REPORT ABUSEI just thought it was worth sharing with others who have the same side effects from their pills.
