Trying to find the RIGHT help!

I’ve gone through the steps of seeing my physician first…numerous blood tests, thyroid check ..so on and so on. The good thing is my physical health is good. Then the world of ADHD began…Physician put me on Adderall just to see how I would do on it. First week…did not like it! Just didn’t feel like myself…focused on things I shouldn’t have been and of course most of them questioning “what is wrong with me?” Well then I went up to 15mg’s and i couldn’t believe the difference. I was afraid at first because I thought taking more would make the feelings from before worse. But it didn’t! So that was a good find. So now….Had my first appointment with an ADHD phychiatrist…..OMG…Frustrated! First he double booked appointments…so I had some very strang lady rush in a head of me and I was stuck in a tiny room..with horrible artwork, and the carpet was a sea foam green! And keep in mind I knew it would be another hour before I would see the Dr. I roamed around the halls…played with my phone…and just about went stir crazy. I used all of my will power to stay

calm. When I did get in I had to cut it short because obviously the appointment was an hour late..the entire time knowing I have to pick up my kids from school..and have another engagement I must attend after this. The “Dr.”…acted confused and seriously I don’t mean to judge

but seemed like he was completely out of it!!! Had to rush my appointment..explaining I started the medication..but want the steps and

encouragement to move forward with this. I’m very serious about getting the necessary help! I want to better myself..not medicate it! He

basically gave me my prescription and sent me on my way. Why when I’m looking and doing everything right am I sent to a quack! I didn’t get anything out of that appointment except for more frustration and bringing out more of my ADHD! Now that I have vented I’m

calling my physician…getting a referral for an ADHD Specialist only. On the search for a real one and not someone who “acts” as though

they are….I thought about giving him a second chance..but my instincts are screaming don’t go back there! And I’m listening! I know I will find the right person…but of course patience is not in my vocabulary. Haha Have a great day everyone!

I don’t like to be negative…So I can laugh about the end of my day. My daughter had a leadership camp out with her school I had to take her two after all the craziness of this day. I was super proud of myself not getting lost along the way to the campground. Haha So was my daughter. Then when I was leaving the campsite…of course it felt like I was in a maze and got lost 200 feet away from where they were camping. I then have to ask some stranger how I get out of here. Lol I turn around and have to go past my daughters site and the entire class…teachers yell “Hello…We knew you would be coming back!” As I see my daughter laughing her booty off…it gave me a good laugh because she knew I was going the wrong way! Another classic ” Mommy moment” as my kids would say. Lol Remember to find the humor my friends no matter how bad it seems at the moment. And I found my way home without getting lost..so that was a definite plus!

Join the club. I once got lost 2 hours trying to find my boys camp and of course, my cell battery was dead and I couldn’t call anyone. It was getting dark in the woods. What a nightmare. Happens to me often. Like I can’t tell North from South and East from West! Unfortunatedly, finding one’s way easily doesn’t come in a pill and GPS aren’t always acurate.
