    Hey all.

Just curious if you’re going to Rick & Dr. J’s Feb. 27th Workshop at Toronto’s Ontario Science Centre on Feb. 27th

My partner, Michelle, and I will definitely be there (as long as the roads are open <g>).

Let us know if you’ll be there and we’ll look out for you.

It’s always so strange, and yet so cool, to meet people face-to-face you only know in “the virtual world.”

Made some of my very best friends that way.

    Look forward to it,

    Cheers till next time,

    GN

PS: I got my diagnosis in ’95 … but I STILL learn something new about my ADD every time I attend one of these workshops. And there is NOTHING like talking with others going through the same thing … paddling around together in “Swan Lake.” (There are no Ugly Ducklings at totallyadd. “Honks” but no “Quacks” <vbg>)

I just tried to find more info on it. It’s not on the calendar of events or anything?

Just watched Rick’s video again, and this needs repeating.

The courage it took to make himself that open & vulnerable just blows me away.

If you haven’t seen it yet – GO WATCH IT NOW.

It’s been as VERY long time since I’ve witnessed that much selfless honesty.

    WELL DONE, RICK.

You’re “doin’ the job” my man … Doin’ the job.

    Hi All,

First of all, I think the video may be confusing people. I wasn’t speaking as me, Rick. I was kind of playing a character–the ADHD everyman. I have some of those symptoms, but certainly not all of them. For one thing, I’m only on my second marriage. (And trust me, this is it) And gambling in casinos and poker, never really thrilled me. I have the worst poker face and I forget what beats what.

So I was trying to show the spectrum of symptoms, impairments and behaviours that Adults who have Undiagnosed and Untreated ADHD can experience. On the other hand, yes, a lot of it is stuff I know first hand.

That said, thanks for the kudos about the courage it took to make the videos. It was actually not that hard. Once I got present to the costs of not speaking up it was kind of easy. I’ll write a Blog about it.

Looking forward to seeing people! Yes, the listing has disappeared from the Events section of the website a number of times. We call the service provider and they put it back up. And the whole site has gone down a couple of times this year. Frustrating. People who know about this stuff are working on it. I’m not one of them. Thank God!

Hey – I know about the event but I’ve been having trouble getting the details. It still isn’t showing in the events section. Would it be possible for someone to post the details in the forum somewhere and possibly have a section related to events?

As it is, I’m planning on making my way down to the Science Center on the Saturday and hoping I can get a ticket there.

    Thanks

I copied this from the OSC website. The website states that you MUST purchase your tickets in advance, however, being the optimist that I am, I called them to see if you could purchase at the door. They really had no clue so I left my contact details for a callback. I’ll post it once I know:

    February 27, 2010

“Now What?!” is a workshop for adults who think they may have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or have recently been diagnosed and need help in determining what they should do next.

The event will be co-hosted by one of the world’s leading experts on ADHD, Dr. Umesh Jain (CAMH, Hospital for Sick Kids, Univ. Of Toronto)…but it will be anything but a traditional mental health information session.

Joining Umesh will be Canadian comedian-writer-director Rick Green (The Red Green Show, Prisoners of Gravity, the documentary ADD and Loving It?!, The Frantics, History Bites – not bad for a guy with ADHD!).

With Rick involved, to say it will be a fun, often funny, experience is an understatement. Check out the video preview of this truly unique event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tQDfQKU2UY

From 1:00 – 4 pm, Imperial Oil Auditorium, Level 1. Presented by Totally ADD (www.TotallyADD.com). Advance ticket purchase required (does not include general admission to the Science Centre).

OSC just called. Tickets will be available at the door assuming there are any remaining tickets. I’d probably suggest that you call the OSC as the date draws nearer to confirm if they are still available, Here’s the # 416-696-1000 or Toll Free: 1-888-696-1110

The BUY TICKETS button on this site doesn’t work, but the link Jimi provided above does.
