    Words do hurt.

    “Ignore them.  They’ll go away” isn’t true.

    If you’re bullied, it will affect you for the rest of your life.  It’s up to you to decide how.

    You can let it eat away at you.  Or you can use your experience to give you the empathy and determination to help prevent others from being bullied.
