Nuyce. Post all over this site when you publish something. If you have any poems about ADD, please make em into a separate thread. That’d be just grand:D
REPORT ABUSE@Rick: If you’re the guy I’ve seen in the videos, thank you!
This site is full of wonderful notions like the one you offered above – about using images as positive reminders for things I can believe in- and, as a matter of fact, my computer wallpaper is the image I’ll now make my profile pic: an overlay of the notes I took on the Holistic Treatment Approach video and a pic of (who I think you are) whining at how fun things .. “well, they’re never enough!”
(have to admit, though, that on top of this I have a dozen ideas for things I want to do, scattered all over it)
cheers,
Mr.S

apparently we should be performing/practicing a certain kind of meditation: Transcendental.
I’ll start a thread when I do or don’t see any change in myself in a month. (I WILL practice each day … foorrrrrr suuuuurrree >.<)
Angle, wassup!
I’d contact your closest Buddhist monastery and ask that they teach you how to meditate. Hopefully you have one near by. If you don’t, youtube has plenty to offer.
Perhaps commuting to a temple, interacting with people who’re very different from yourself, and the scene in the temple would make for a pleasantly stimulating setting where your mind could wander less.
Keep us posted. We’re rooting for you!
REPORT ABUSEwhat kind of writing do you want to get paid for, ashhockley555?
literally ten minutes ago, I pondered the possibility of writing for a living.
I’ve always wanted to contribute to humanity in some way that would outlast me and everyone I know. A couple of years back I decided that a technological or scientific product of some kind would enable me to do just that, but as I take calculus-based physics today, I’m thinking that those who enjoy working with gadgets and/or reading science books in their free time are better fitted to be engineers.
how have you guys maximized your ability to concentrate and be productive when you have work to do? (sorry to change the subj… I have mild ADD >.<)
when I tell myself ‘I will finish this task right nowww,’ I find myself daydreaming before I know it.
REPORT ABUSEI wasn’t diagnosed as a child, but I’m now a struggling college student/ mechanical engineering junior.
I have trouble focusing for more than a minute or two during my own study time. I can follow a lecture without a problem, but when I sit to study on my own I find that I’ve day-dreamed minutes away before I know it. I’ve gotten thus far by grasping general concepts, but as the material becomes progressively intricate, I find that I need to be able to focus for longer periods to absorb the concepts.
How did you get yourself to focus? Cigarettes? coffee?
What do you ‘love?’
the only things that keep my interest are females and athletics, really. Otherwise I find that it takes effort to stay focused on/amused by whatever I’m doing.
if you have any questions about ‘being a people person’ I’d be glad to answer them. You most likely didn’t come with questions, but I’ve asked so many^ that I figure I should offer anyway.
hardly related:
i’ve found alain de botton’s musings on pessimism to be uplifting recently. maybe this will help you in some way
hope you reply
joe in SoCal
REPORT ABUSEkinda related: i’ve had the weird habit for some time, of googling pictures of things which I hope will serve as reminders of some valuable/helpful notion when I view the picture repeatedly as a phone or computer wallpaper.
also have a bad habit of getting my dopamine fix from … other… image websites. sorry ladies(no way you’re dudes) just sharing as a fellow add-er
