Hurray! I had to leave the site for a couple days due to frustration, but now I’ve returned and voila! Things are cookin’ with gas now.

So far, so good. Keep your fingers crossed! Wait, you won’t be able to type like that. Never mind.

MRMcKay, I worked in accounting for almost 10 years. This was before I knew I had ADHD.  Before I got my degree, I had a long string of 1-year or less stints at various administrative jobs.

The reason I was able to stick it out in my accounting job is because I was a sales tax auditor, which meant I dealt a lot of different companies, even going to their places of business, which varied things up for me. The job also involved knowing a lot of law and research. I actively avoided long-term projects. I also had a fair amount of autonomy in the job (deciding how to approach each audit, scheduling, etc.).

If you can tolerate accounting, I strongly suggest you look at jobs that give you a lot of different projects, like auditing or forensic accounting.

There is still plenty of boring work left to in accounting, even with computers, but the structure can actually be helpful if you get a job with enough variety for mental stimulation.

I have been very frustrated with the site changes.  Buttons were pushed, and they weren’t all on the website. A lot of bad feelings have surfaced for me, because I’ve really looking forward to get more involved.

However, I’m going to expend some of my allotment for patience and try to hang in there. I understand that updating TotallyADD.com is a HUGE job (and not one that I could undertake, I guarantee). I appreciate the work that’s going into this.

One of the greatest frustrations I have had is that I’ve been unable to get past the login, stuck in some kind of Catch-22 that would tell me to register even though I was already registered, and wouldn’t release me.

The only reason I’m able to post now is that I switched from Firefox to Chrome, but I’m still not able to update my profile picture.

When things have settled down, we’re going to have to have a thread to help us all cope with the trauma of the website changes. 😉
