I like Dr. Charles Parker’s http://www.Youtube.com channel ( Core Psych Blog) with helpful insights regarding dosing and is the author of New Medication Rules for ADHD. With my symptomology, your issues sounded like mine only when I took Vyvanse early on.  If you want to know why you feel this way, see Dr. Parker’s Youtube channel for more.

That sounds good-really good for you! Do you realize there are a lot of us who don’t get this response b/c there are other facts in our particular cases? So, finding what the brain needs to blow off the fog, the malaise, the anxious thoughts, is sometimes not so easy. I am glad for you, however, and may you continue to do what helps in a healthy, safe way.

I am not a physician so I can’t give you medical advice.  But, my experience and strength is in reply to your question. I am in a healthy balance when I give my brain just exactly what it needs- no more, no less. I just know that Dopamine is a two-edged sword for some people, and needs some reigning in medically. I use an anti-typical treatment. 🙂

I do think the man on the science innovative technologies known as TED is incorrect. He is just not getting the main health picture to me. That is, that people with A.D.H.D. are in need of treatment first, not necessarily understanding. Good treatment includes an understanding approach, but ADHD is real and for me it was nearly totally disabling. I was Valedictorian in high-school then proceeded with the next twenty years of not being able to finish classes in University. If you are like me, you want to not just make it but make it and not be beaten down, spit out, and underestimated. I want to no longer live that way, and i realize that I wasn’t treated for ADHD until later, but that even so, it made me stronger. I agree with both gentlemen, with the exception that there is no quick fix and ADHD is the best option as part of a multi-faceted approach for healthcare, from what scientists know about the frontal lobe shut-down that inevitable occurs with ADHD due to Dopamine transporter and receptor irregularities (low Dopamine in certain areas where it is needed for Executive function)
