Larynxa, I agree with your comment about the just ignore them. Both my kids have adhd and were bullyed all thru their school years due to being in special ed classes for ld. The schools say kids will be kids. My son could no longer take the torture and broken bones and dropped out of school, my daughter graduated but was very introverted by the bullying. Maybe it is the animal instinct to kill the week or something. I advocated for my kids daily to no success. I hope things change some day.
REPORT ABUSERBink I understand what your saying, Im 50ish and as I age the effects of the adhd are really becoming more of a problem. Its not just a guy thing and I make notes to do things and forget where I put the notes. I have always had difficulty with work and personal relationships, if you find something that works I’d be glad to hear it. Keep on trying.
REPORT ABUSEI really liked my job but was told they could get a younger person to do twice the work I was doing while trying to learn new computer systems. I have never been diagnosed adhd although I have a son who was diagnosed at 2 yrs old with an extreme case of adhd and put on meds. My memory is not good and I was in a high tech controlled work environment. I felt caged and unable to figure a way out. I was fired. One of many such stories Im sure, but Im glad to hear that there are some cases where things work out positively. Just felt the need to share.
REPORT ABUSEIam new to this site. I have been told that I am harder on myself than others are . I am an adult 50ish and was never diagnosed ADHD I figured out ways to get by best I could in work, schools and life. It is very complicated and at time too difficult. I hope you find a coach whom works for you.
