I follow the Gi diet and eat to live by dr Furhman.  I feel better on it and definitely recommend the importance of lean protein every two hours and increasing your fibre intake to maintain your consistent energy levels throughout the day especially during phase one when losing weight.  Also if you or another person is in ADHD medication . What your coffee intake or eliminate it altogether. Switch to green tea or black tea. Drink water !!!  Leafy greens are important … Chia seeds , algae , flax , look at chlorella for heavy metal detox, and focus. Iodine or copper deficiency or magnesium deficiency too. Also, vitamin d levels.

Hi I  am on vyvanse and your comments have me concerned. I have break outs like I never had before. I know for sure certain foods and drinks effect how I react to the medication too.  For example, Starbucks coffee is the worst!!!  one grande size cup or pike place or a pumpkin spice latte and look out! Here comes spider woman!! Spazzing , climbing the walls , worse than robin Williams and Eddie murphy stand up Routine combined I tell you!!!

I tried to have a small cup of coffee , and different brands , decaf even , some fared a bit better , but overall , caffeine , in addition to a stimulate medication is not a good idea.

Green tea was okay, hot water and lemon was fine too.

My adhd friends ends and relatives who are not medicated need caffeine .  I started a food and drink journal to monitor for trends

I have mood swings too. Yes it’s hormone related / cycle related . Your hormones are effected by lack of sleep , exposure to plastics , poor diet, lack of exercise, high stress . As women age and their human growth hormones don’t produce as much as they use to… It can effect us mentally and physically .   I get physical pain more when I am going through PMS… Brain fog , joint and muscle pain in my jaw , shoulder , hip, and foot.   The pain added to my pre existing irritability from the bloating , constipation,  word recall difficulty and sleep problems.

Yoga … Hot or regular …. Helps  a lot to manage you pain , helps with breathing technique to be calm.

even though I eat a plant based diet, don’t drink more than a cup of coffee a day , drink green tea, make sure I am properly hydrated.  I am still moody.

so is it my thyroid ?

My doctor told me that people who have ADHD do well in outside sales because we ” think well on our feet” and get creative and figure things out on the fly in the middle of a crisis or chaos. That is also why many become emergency room doctors or criminal lawyers .

Many people end up working in the service industry.

Ironically my ex spouse was a successful sale manager who has ADHD and his brother is a criminal lawyer ( also has ADHD ).
