Oh, I see this topic has been already discussed peeps, lol. Okay, I shall get busy reading! Talk later?
REPORT ABUSEThanks Rick,
What you described totally makes sense. Whenever I approach another daunting night school project, this is how I need to go about tackling it too! Thanks for putting it into words 😉
REPORT ABUSEHey there, don’t feel bad. That’s why I have Corningware dishes and soft vinyl tile flooring. Not the best looking material, but hardy and budget friendly 🙂
REPORT ABUSEThat’s a great article Scattybird. Thanks for sharing. Here’s one from another fave of mine: http://view.messages.webmd.com/?j=febf11787d61077e&m=fe9f13707564027c77&ls=fe2d157471610579701274&l=ff921178&s=fe6017747561067f7c12&jb=ff5f107572&ju=fe8e1c7975640d7e71&r=0
Hey no problem! I’m glad people are looking out for you 🙂 Above is a good article and I also like psychcentral.com website. Have a great day!
REPORT ABUSEJanuary 13, 2015 at 4:28 pm in reply to: 45 and recently diagnosed with ADHD. Hope my story helps someone else. #126415Hey there. I got added to your message as I was reading an email from Dr. Hallowell. He wrote an awesome letter to his posse that you may want to check out. Hope the link sent right! I love Ed or Ned or whatever he calls himself 🙂
REPORT ABUSEDear Blondie, Welcome to this wonderful resource and community of fellow ADHD’ers. I feel it imperative to suggest that you see a qualified Dr. asap about your medication situation. Don’t be afraid to persist and be an advocate for yourself. If your regular Dr. doesn’t help you then pursue another professional opinion. Medication is a serious matter and not to be tickered with by an amateur who could inadvertently make things worse for you. I’m really sorry to hear about your ongoing anxiety. I have a daughter around your age who for years had such a problem with it she was confined to the house for years. So I believe you that it can have a profound an effect on someone’s life. For me I found mindfulness training  with a zen social worker beneficial and then I learned to appreciate the relaxing pace of yoga sessions (which I detested for the first month or so, until I discovered a calmer version of myself) I love my pets too and find playing with them makes me happier. Again, I’m not a Dr. but does your inhaler have a cortisteroid in it? My Dad reacted rangy to this component. Surely your Dr. is aware of the combination of the meds you’ve been prescribed? But then again, one ought to not assume anything…Sometimes a pharmacist is a very helpful person to ask and they are available 24/7 at some pharmacies. The more education you get the better! Take care dear and I wish you all the best. Keep your chin up 🙂
REPORT ABUSEHey thanks Larynxa. You do have the best advice I’ve noticed. I always see your posts on the live webinars and can tell you are well read. Perhaps you could offer professional help to others for a living , write a book and become rich and famous from your experience? If so, then I cannot afford you -lol, so thanks for being a supportive friend to me. It does feel lonely at times having ADHD and being like a square peg in a world full of round holes. Can you tell me any books you’ve read recently? I have a Sari Solden on my nightstand and started Ed Hallowell’s too. I got your message about hormones and will try some of those suggestions! Thanks so much 🙂 TTYL. p.s. are you in the Hamilton area?
REPORT ABUSEP.S. sorry for complaining about a stupid ‘first world problem’. It’s Christmas afterall. Oh well, live and learn.

Great to hear you didn’t let the diagnosis define you. You probably suspected you had something different going on your whole life but you just grab life by the balls and went for it! Keep being the inspiration you are for others beating the odds everyday. No need to be down ‘n’ out about the cards you’ve been dealt. I’ll look for that book Odd One Out. It’s funny because I’m 45 too and recently diagnosed a few months ago. I find often this works in my favour because I always get right back up again time & again after setbacks. Having hope and trying over & over pays off in the end. Merry Christmas!
