I’ve mentioned recently that at my lowest moments, despairing, I thought, “I wish I’d never been diagnosed.”
That’s not true, of course. Having an explanation for some of my challenges, an explanation that I can work with, has been hugely helpful.
I’ve stopped and started taking ADHD medication four times.
The first time I started was nearly 15 years ago.
The fourth time I started medication was yesterday.
It remains a hot button topic for parents and kids, fodder for scary headline writers, and of course ‘the enemy’ for websites promoting all-natural cures for ADHD.
How do you ‘cure’ ADHD? I mean it’s not like a wart or cancer where you can see it is there, treat it, and then see that it’s gone.
