I’m “usually right” and want to use my “superpowers” to help my community.  I hyper-focus but I don’t make snap decisions about big issues. The week of skills and abilities, etc testing I took at the employment centre said I’m “usually right” about things.  Not sure how to include that on a resume though, LOL. I guess that’s because I try to thoroughly investigate new ideas and techniques before making up my mind. I was also made to feel inferior, discounted and put down a lot when growing up, so that’s probably why I feel obligated to provide references and links to positions I take on specific issues (these are basic truths, not whining, and definitely not spam).

I think I see everyone as equals, so I’m not afraid to call B.S. on a so-called “expert” if their info is faulty.  A person doesn’t necessarily have to have letters after their name to be a true expert.  An “opinion—regardless of source—is valid only if it is based on objective, relevant, and verifiable evidence”.

Testing confirmed I am a problem solver and am not content to merely complain about things.  I see successful things that other communities are doing and want our community to do them too. I decided to focus on one specific area and got involved.  Where others don’t have time to do the research, my hyper-focus lets me investigate this new information on specifics of how these other communities made positive changes.  The head of the committee I’m on said I’m way ahead of everyone else. I think she means I have done the research, can see the big picture and how the issues are solvable.

I compare the comprehensive solution I’m pursuing as similar to a Rubik’s cube; you know t’s solvable by following specific instructions to repeat success that others have had.  This provides something positive to focus on and keeps me enthusiastic.

I look for gaps, areas I can contribute right now.

I’m open to new information that often goes against the status quo. This has allowed me to change my attitude and beliefs but still remember and identify with those who hold other beliefs.  When something has proven to work in so many other places, however, I’m like a dog with a bone; I am compelled to improve my communication if that will help someone understand my ideas better.

Because I have been sharing and discussing the new ideas online, I can usually simplify them and provide analogies, examples and references to show they are doable.

I believe I am aware of many of my faults and issues that I need to work on.

I really can’t have background music, etc on unless I’m only doing a mundane task, like cleaning. I like to think of things like letters, articles or presentations I’d like to work on, and music is too distracting. I find I only turn the radio on to listen to the news.

Why did you call my post spam when I was providing links that had more info? I don’t have anything to sell.  Those sites have quite a bit of  free info. Any links I provide are for info purposes only.

I have swelling on my neck, had an ultrasound and biopsy that were negative for cancer, but surgeon wants it rechecked in six months.  Blood tests were negative for hypo and hyperthyroidism, but I’m not sure they checked for everything mentioned on the Stop the Thyroid Madness site.  So if everything is a-okay, why do I have a goiter?

So now that’s (not really) figured out, I have to figure out how to pay for ADD testing (live  near London, Ontario). Doctor (nurse practitioner) wanted to put me on antidepressants after a 60 second questionnaire, but I want to explore other testing as I have been on those drugs before and did not feel they helped, and they had negative side effects.

I really have barely any energy.  Supposed to be taking iron twice a day but lost the bottle of pills during pre Christmas cleanup, along with some other items.  I hope everything is in one place when I find them.

No energy, no feeling of accomplishment when I do manage to get stuff done, no money, no job.  I can’t sign up to take courses unless I feel I can complete the work.

Financial aide… not exactly sure who qualifies for this, but am posting it (applies to those who can attend a Dr. Svec clinic in Ontario, Canada, I presume.

    “What is PsychAid?

Started by Dr. Henry J. Svec, PsychAid is very similar to legal aid in Ontario, in that the goal is to provide psychological assistance to patients who are unable to afford this service. “Helping one patient at a time” the goal is to within three years, have every psychological practice in the province of Ontario be able to take on one PsychAid patient at any one time. Patients pay $5 per visit and the remainder of $95 is provided directly to the clinic by the Dr. Svec Institute and Rehabilitation Clinics.”

Free time management apps (applications/programs).  Google calendar will let you create events and appointments and will email you reminders.  The Google Chrome store has a bunch of free apps and reviews so you can choose. Cnet (dot) com has reviews of software too.

Paperwork for different groups I attend.

I keep a few reusable grocery bags and keep the papers and binders for each group/club in their own bag. Each has their own clipboard and extra paper for taking notes. It can get messy, but I can take the papers out and file them in the binder and put them back in their own bag. Makes it easy when I can just grab the bag and go, knowing everything is in the bag.

When I was younger, we used to pile recipe books on the microwave. It used to be next to the wide-slot toaster. One morning, my brother and I woke up to the smoke detector going off due to smoke in the kitchen.  We frantically looked around but couldn’t find a fire.  Then we saw that one of the cats had knocked some books off and they got toasted!  They must have popped up again without fully igniting, thankfully. An unexpected lesson for us to be more careful. It’s not something we could have predicted.

I live in SW Ontario. I recently saw a TV commercial for Dr. Svec. Website says they have a couple of clinics that can diagnose and treat ADHD. Anyone had any experience with them?  I am also looking for testing for adult ADD/ADHD for myself and am unemployed. My Dr.’s off ice is pushing pills for depression but I want proper testing.
