    Hey everyone

This might be a way out idea, and I have no idea how it would work but I thought I’d throw it out there. With all the updates etc for the website, I keep seeing admins saying it will happen, it just takes time. Well could some of the members of the site do some stuff for you pro bono? There are many IT people here and I’m sure there would be some who’d like to help. This website is amazing and has given me so much support and if I could help out I would, but I don’t know much about computers and programming etc. Just an idea

I had lots of hobbies, so many so that I was having a conversation which lead to me jokily saying I had adhd so needed to do stuff to keep me busy and after thinking about it, doing a heap of research found I probably do have adhd (still waiting for diagnosis). So I had a look at my long list of hobbies and picked out three to focus on. (Now I have piles of stuff I no longer need that I bought for the other hobbies that I can’t bare to part with, as I spent a lot of money on it all). I didn’t quite make a list though but was a similar idea

I’m off to meet my friend and go running (or walking with the occasional spurt of energy). Hopefully he turns up

I agree with Dr J. If I don’t have someone to exercise with, I rarely do it on my own. So I finally found a friend who I go running with. It’s the only way I exercise. I feel guilty if I stand him up. I also play soccer and go to training so I don’t let the coach down who volunteers his time. I’ve tried exercising on my own for years but it never works.

I’l forgive you for derailing my post. I got my answer anyway.

I’m also a muso, I play brass (baritone horn currently, but usually a euphonium- google david childs to see a pro eupho player if you don’t know what one is) and have tried to teach myself guitar and piano, with limited success. I also write poetry and short stories. I used to tell people if my hands or mind are not kept occupied, all hell may break loose, so that is why I have so many hobbies. But now I know there is a more reasonable excuse for it! Lol

    Hey Toofat

wawa by johnah is the name I use for my photography/art business. WaWa stands for Wall and Wearable art- so photography, paintings, drawings etc plus I design t-shirts occasionally too. Johnah is a nickname I gave myself back in primary school after reading a book called ‘your code name is jonah’. I added an extra ‘h’ cause I thought it’d be cool!

I’ve started running too. I joined our local runner’s club too and have been twice- and nearly died both times! But the adrenaline rush is awesome. There are some super fit people there. Not me, I am in the bottom of the group, only followed by the people walking the track. My aim is to do a half marathon at next years runners festival here. Crazy I know. But something to aim for.

It sux, but I’ve come to the realisation there is nothing I can do about. So I’ll just do heaps of researching on the net and read books etc and learn as much as I can myself and work out some new strategies to assist me whilst I wait. I might end up knowing more than the doc by the time the appointment happens!

Yes, I’m beginning to realise how I’ve been all my life isn’t quite the same as ‘normal people’. But as you say, since I didn’t know any different I just coped as best I could. I’ve always known I was different and now I have an answer to how.

I think this is one of my biggest problems too. Even right now I have failed to start dinner so will probably not even bother- almost 9pm here. 2 days ago I wouldn’t have thought this was even near the top of my list but after thinking about it all day I am sure this is one of the major issues I have. I still can’t believe I never realised it before.

I never realised that it happens to me all the time. Until yesterday and it hit me :-)

I can see how this impacts my life in so many ways. Still can’t belive I never noticed it before. I suppose after years of being told I was lazy I belived that was the issue

    Hi Dr J

I did read that you visited Australia. Sounds like you have started some good work here. A national ADHD network sounds like a great idea. I’ll keep an eye out to see what comes of it.
