Thanks everyone! I appreciate the advice! I’m going to look into getting back with my coach and try to make some lists (as I love lists!) to reassure myself that I have everything and that I’m ok!
@Lrynxa Thanks for the link! I also saw a previous post from yourself on another forum and ordered the Highly Sensitive Person Workbook. Anything to help is good in my book! Such a learning experience this all is!

I just started my script for Adderall XR 20 mg per day after “trying” to get it together without the meds. I’ve been on it for about a month now and feel the “fog” has lifted and that I am more awake and able to participate fully in conversations. The one tool that has really helped me in my journey is to have a schedule for every hour every day. Sounds extreme, but it keeps me motivated to do the small stuff that I HATE (like cleaning the house, dishes etc). If I have it in my schedule then when I am done, I check it off. It keeps me focused on what I SHOULD be doing. So if I get lost on the internet looking up cake ideas (I’m a designer) then I can look at the clock and say ok it’s 10am it’s exercise time. I then get up and either go for a walk to bust out the Wii Fit/Active/Just Dance for some movement. My husband has noticed a big difference in that there aren’t unfinished projects around the house or the things are clean 100% and not just half ass because I found something more “exciting” to do!!

I also have had the dry mouth, insomnia for a few weeks, but now I find I’m experiencing the stomach upset in the morning? I have a follow up with my doctor on Monday so we’ll see, but thought I’d ask if anyone else has had this and what did you do? I’m afraid b/c of the appetite suppression that I’m not getting enough nutrients for my body. Going to try juicing with shakes but not sure??

    Glad to read everyone’s posts!!

Carol, you are a brave women for coming out in an on-line forum to share you experience and frustration!! I’m not an expert and I myself have not been affected by breast cancer, but the one thing that I’ve been reading about lately is the importance of a support system. Whether it’s family, friends or a local support group, take your ADD hyperfocus and look into all the avenues you can regarding what is out there. Check out the Canadian Cancer Society, your work may have an Employee Assistance Program-they are usually free and confidential so your employer will not know what is being used for what reason. They are able to connect you with local professionals in your area to help you through this! I think everyone has a period of fogginess when any bad news is given. Hang in there and you’ll find a way to beat it!! Best wishes!!

Hi all-this is new to me as I was just diagnosed Tuesday of last week! It all started with a trip to the states with my sister and mother. We started chatting about younger years and the mistakes I always seemed to make. My mom blurted out that she always thought I had ADD, but nothing was done to further this hypothesis. So being the responsible 30 yr. old woman I am, searched the internet and found a great dr. by the name of Tim Bilkey in Barrie (where I live). He did a one on one session with me to ask the questions as to why I was there those type, gave me homework style tests to do and also wanted to have a session with my husband and mother.

Long story short, I have ADD and depression. I find it hard to focus on many things and now I’m just frustrated at the years where I had no clue. I’ve heard that this is common amoung people who get their diagnosis later in life (mind you, being 30 and finding out isn’t quite as hard as I’m sure others who are older with children have). I just wonder now where my path is to lead? I don’t enjoy my profession as it takes a lot of concentration to avoid errors (Human Resources) and I don’t feel very creative in my work. I’d like to learn more about what my strengths are and how best to apply them to a job. Does anyone have suggestions or ideas? I am open to travel to the GTA or Toronto to procede with treatment options as well.

I have found this website to be extremely useful and helpful and I am hoping with these forums to share in our journey together!
