Today I am learning Stevie Wonder’s Superstition. A guitar player at the jam always asks me to play it but I don’t know it well enough. I caught on the first time like nothing but when your not on meds (normally mine are wore off by that time) its hard to concentrate when your nervous, all eyes are on you (yeah im paranoid like that, maybe just self-centered hahahahaha), lights flashing in your face…. Hard to focus. I HATE when they use white lights! I was once on stage in Canmore, Alberta with some B list players. I had one drink too many because I was so nervous…. I got on stage… things were going really well until the stupid white lights flashed in my face! I WAS BLINDED! I tripped up a bit but got right back on track. Thats the last time I ever got drunk and played… I need ALL the focus I can. Tomorrow I will be taking my meds later in the day so they wont wear off by the time I need to jam. Gosh im so nervous already! Eeeeeeeek!

YEP! Welcome to ADHD! Medication is a WORLD of a difference when it comes to the work field. I was all over the place and forgot everything I was doing. Once on meds I was able to stay on track and remember what I was doing. Paper work still kills me… but im working on it!

Oh… when I first started taking meds I thought they did nothing for me. I was expecting a big WOW!! I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE RAIN IS GONE! Nope… wasnt like that at ALL! They were very subtle differences…. The first one I noticed… during an educational session I didn’t doodle on my notes! Normally all the sides were covered in cartoons and doodles. I was quite amazed. Another subtle difference… I stopped making beeping sounds. Yeah that sounds weird. I also was able to tune into what people were saying instead of just starring at their eye ball hoping they didnt notice I was wasnt listening. Like I said in many other posts… when not on my meds my co-workers think im drunk or on drugs.

Your avatar reminds me of my poor neighbors cat who was just at my sons window meowing because hes out in the cold rain! I brought him into my room to warm up a bit buy my Siamese would of flipped out if she saw or heard him. I feel so bad for him! I don’t think my neighbors are home! At one time I had 7 cats because the strays just kept showing up…. my husband wasnt very happy. I would catch them, bring them to the vet to be fixed then let them go again. All of them were feral. I would just leave out food for them… Poor kitties

Im going to a jam night Sunday! I can’t wait! I havent been out to a jam in months! Im usually super shy… I sit quietly in the corner and then politely ask the jam leader if I can play. Most assume I cant play or play “like a girl”. Then I go up, wow them all, then make my get-away! Normally on my way out people come up and compliment me. Some ask me to go to other jams. Some ask if im in a band – been there, done that NO THANKS! Too much of a commitment and most people just play boring music and expect me to show up to “practice” the same 10 songs every week over and over and overrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr KILL ME NOW! Ive gone to one “after jam” jam. Getting to the house was quite the adventure! It was pretty fun. The jam itself…. meh. Anyways… then I go home feeling great and wait for the right moment to arise and stun the masses once again! I need a mysterious cape and mask! That would be pretty awesome! I was invited to a co-workers house to jam too! He plays the drums! Should be fun!
