You may want to talk to your doctor sooner. I’ve never taken Ritalin, but when I first started taking stimulants, I didn’t have a high feeling or jittery or get overtalkative. In fact, it was the opposite. I felt very calm for once and able to control myself. You may be on too high of a dose.
REPORT ABUSEI was put on Intuniv as a addition to Vyvanse, because my doctor didn’t want to put me on a higher dosage (I am already at a pretty high one). Intuniv worked great, but unfortunately I gained 9 pounds in 6 weeks!! I am already a little overweight and was trying to lose weight, so needless to say I can’t add on any more. I am getting off of it now and hopefully will begin to lose what I gained recently. 🙁
REPORT ABUSEWhen I first started taking stimulant drugs, the same thing happened to me for the first few weeks or so. Then I got used to them and that side effect went away. I could even take naps after taking them!
REPORT ABUSEYou can take the Virtual Doctor quiz and see what it says. Look around the website TotallyADD.com for more resources.
REPORT ABUSEI don’t trust the government, especially with something like this. It could easily be used down the road for something else other than its initial purpose on many levels.
REPORT ABUSEIMO that’s a pretty personal question. I wouldn’t ask unless you are VERY good friends.
REPORT ABUSEI did the survey, and it doesn’t ask for any personal information whatsoever, other than the usual generic categorization data (male/female, age, etc).
REPORT ABUSEMaybe look into his sleep cycles. My husband ( he would mortified if he knew I posted this) had troubles with that growing up, and it was due to sleep cycles. He would go into such a deep sleep that his body would ignore signals to wake up. FWIW, as an adult, he has been diagnosed with sleep apnea and wears a CPAP.
REPORT ABUSEMe too, but that is my anxiety (generalized anxiety disorder) rather than my ADHD. You may want to look into combating your anxiety first. Good luck – I know how it feels. 🙁
REPORT ABUSEHysterectomy. Best. Surgery. Ever.
I never had PMS all *that* bad (or at least I think I didn’t – my husband may have thought otherwise), but the pain was intolerable. I was already starting at 36 to go into periomenopause too. I have lived with the pain my whole life, but it just got to the point where it was completely unbearable.
REPORT ABUSEWoohoo!
REPORT ABUSEAs for medication, it truly depends on you. Each medication reacts differently with each person, so it may take some trial and error to find the right fit, if in fact medication even works for you. Just be patient.
REPORT ABUSEFor some reason, laughing gas doesn’t work on me. Go figure.
REPORT ABUSEI don’t read really long posts. I guess I’m too impatient.
Sorry, no offense to anyone. It’s me, not you. 🙂
REPORT ABUSEI can see both sides of the coin. I think back to when I start working on jigsaw puzzles, and I literally cannot stop until hours later. I don’t necessarily call that a gift. If it were a gift, then I could turn it on and off depending on what needs to get done.
