I think I saw a successful thread a while back that had a link to an Amazon product in the first few posts, so maybe it’s threads that are getting to be a certain length *and* an Amazon link that breaks it?
Amy
REPORT ABUSEI tried posting a link to Amazon for this book before but it always breaks the thread. If you haven’t read it already, I would highly suggest the book “Is it You, Me, or Adult ADD?” that will be of help to you for what you describe. It is a great book and resource for partners of someone with ADD/ADHD.

REPORT ABUSEI’m not taking Concerta (Focalin XR instead), but when I first started my meds, my appetite was suppressed, but after a while that went away and I had to watch what I ate again so that I wouldn’t gain weight. I’m trying to lose weight now in fact! I’ll trade problems with you GardenerOfStars.

REPORT ABUSEThat was probably me that posted as a reply to you. After I posted, I wasn’t able to see the thread either!
I suggested reading the book “Is It You, Me, or Adult ADD”. It’s a great book for non-ADDers and ADDers in a relationship!

REPORT ABUSEDefinitely read “Is It You, Me, or Adult ADD?” if you are having relationship problems (or even if you are not having relationship problems!) if you are in a relationship with an ADDer. It’s a great book.

REPORT ABUSEIf it will be a while until you can try another medication if it really is ADD, then I would try the holistic approach found in the videos on this site, like getting more sleep, exercising, and cutting out sugars/processed foods. Getting the right amount of sleep makes all the difference. Even things like hormone imbalances can cause adhd-like symptoms.
I would also cut back on things in your life that might be causing the chaos and see if things change.
Hope this helps and good luck!

REPORT ABUSEIt still blows my mind how “slowly” time moves when I take my medication and it’s working 100%. I have a horrible sense of time.
I use Remember the Milk on my ipod touch for my to do list and to set reminders for them. http://www.rememberthemilk.com There’s a web version as well that syncs with it. I also use the app Nag to set alarms to keep me on task. My ipod touch has been an effective tool to help me with my ADHD.
Hope this helps!

REPORT ABUSEHey Rick, thanks for responding! I meant a border around the Google ads at the top of the forums. The others look great!
REPORT ABUSEI don’t mind the ads so much, as long as they aren’t pop ups that open a new browser window. The designer may want to put a border around the Google ads though so it’s clear where they start and end – it may give the site a cleaner look.
I’m looking forward to TotallyADD 2.0! It sounds like there’s going to be a lot of new stuff!

REPORT ABUSE@MonkeyBarb, it’s not hard to hook up a Wii at all – just like hooking up a VCR, DVD , etc using the A/V cables (red, white & yellow ones). And the Let’s Dance games are great for a quick workout! My daughter loves LD3 and I play it with her. It always gets my heart rate up.

REPORT ABUSEOH man… with every job I’ve had, there’s been stuff & noises from the other cubicles that have driven me CRAZY (well… I was already at crazy, so just crazier. ). Glad to know I’m not the only one.
The worst though was when a guy catty-corner from me in a cube had some kind of sinus issue and would snort and snuff every minute or so. I thought I was going to go through the roof because it annoyed me so much!! I never could work very well in cubicles because of the constant noise of people on the phone, everybody walking by, etc. It was torture. (This was all before medication).

REPORT ABUSEI had a sleepy side effect when I first started taking Focalin for a little while, but eventually it went away.
Good luck!
Amy
REPORT ABUSEAw, thanks everybody. ::blush::
REPORT ABUSEI WILL finish painting my cabinets! Really. Really really. I’m about 50% done right now and have been for the past 3 weeks. But I will push through this. At some point.
