I got my Zeo a couple days ago. The first night I had the headband too tight & took it off after 2hrs of light sleep. Last night the headband was comfortable, and I got a 79 on my sleep score. It said I took only 2 minutes to fall asleep, and I start immediately into REM sleep. I’m not sleep deprived (I get 8hrs sleep and often take a nap during the day), so I was not expecting the REM to be so soon in my sleep cycle. I guess instead of working on my todo list this weekend I may be spending more time researching sleep patterns.

It costs only 25c/pill. It’s the cheapest ADHD medication I’ve found, and it lasts much longer (taking the 2nd 6-7hrs after the first) than a single 36mg Concerta.
REPORT ABUSEAnother thumbs up on the mediation & mindfulness from me. It helps calm the emotional part of the brain. I also try to use it when I feel myself getting stressed; then I don’t loose my temper as often. I was doing it long before I was diagnosed with ADHD, and combined with meds it gets me close to a “normal” temper.
REPORT ABUSEI find the “calmness” comes from the improved emotional control; i.e. things still annoy me, but the meds give me that fraction of a second to decide to take a deep breath instead of yelling at someone/something.
REPORT ABUSESome of the ADHD studies have used computerized tests like PASAT, go/no-go, and SSRT.
A couple of them are available free online at cognitivefun.net
REPORT ABUSEIf you were serious about kicking the photocopier, then I’d say you have the emotional impulse control issues of ADHD. Controlling my temper is the main reason I take methylphenidate.

I take a 20mg SR in the am, and another after lunch. Cheap and the effect lasts 15-16hrs.
REPORT ABUSEHealth Canada approves drugs based on “bioequivalence”, which means a generic has to have the same (80-125%) amount of drug absorbed by the body and the same (80-125%) peak level in the body.
Pharmacokinetic equivalence is more than that; the time of the peak levels and the time to drop to half levels need to be considered for pharmacokinetic equivalence. Insurance companies tend to look only at bioequivalence of generics and not pharmacokinetic equivalence.

REPORT ABUSENovember 12, 2011 at 11:02 pm in reply to: histamine intolarance (Food and ADD) (pseudo allergy) #109597I have ADHD, with a formal diagnosis from my GP and from a specialist who is a CADDAC member. No allergies.
I believe you are making the common mistake of equating co-relation with causality.
REPORT ABUSENovember 12, 2011 at 10:59 pm in reply to: Insomnia and Sleep Disorders Thread: Decreasing Already Stellar Concentration #109335@no_dopamine: My friend James has had several sleep labs, and still finds his Zeo great. He even wrote some custom software to show more details from the log files stored on the SD card.

I don’t think I have apnea, but I recently ordered one myself.

I only take vitamin supplements as a temporary measure until I can figure out the diet/lifestyle that keeps my body healthy.
regarding sleep logs, here’s a computer that does it and a lot more:

REPORT ABUSENovember 11, 2011 at 11:57 pm in reply to: Stress and it's affect on the effectiveness of Ritalin #109604I agree with munchkin. Stress = stronger emotions from the lymbic system. Ritalin juices up the ACC.

REPORT ABUSESensitivities are associated with ASD. I have an Aspergers-like ASD and have moderate sensitivities. Loud noises, static shocks, and other things cause pain. I also start feeling motion sickness in seconds if I try reading in a vehicle.
