You’ve just reminded me I left the stove on over an hour ago. I hope someone else turned it off. Better go see!

    @blackdog

I have to sell my house, too.

Wait – did I say that?

I found something really cool – the “Tiny House” movement. People building their own  mini-houses to mount on trailers and drive around, or find a permanent spot for maybe. The idea is that they are very space efficient, involve not owning very much stuff because there’s nowhere to put it, and can be off the grid with solar power, so they are cheap to live in.

I do sprints, too, on most things. Then I run out of steam and forget what was going on.

I lost my job and now I have to look for a new one. I hate job hunting. I hate interviewing. I hate feeling like I’m going around begging people to like me. I wish I could figure out a way to earn a living where I didn’t have to be around anyone – where I could be in my own space, doing my own thing.

I’ve done nothing to clean up my space, and haven’t even got around to getting a wall calendar.

    😉

Anyone who tells you your soul is incapable of love is just being ridiculous. That’s a terrible thing to say to anyone. The fact that you care proves it’s wrong. Someone who was really incapable wouldn’t care what anyone thought, or how anyone felt about them or about anything else.

I can relate to the desire to please other people and be what they want – rather than be myself or care for my own needs. It’s too tiring to seek approval, and too frustrating not to get it. I never seem to fit in.

I struggle with social connections…I’m just more comfortable when I’m by myself or people I know well, one on one. Group situations cause a lot of stress. I feel like I’m supposed to be different from who I am, and that people are judging me, expecting me to be different in ways I don’t understand. I find most people to be pretty judgmental – they make assumptions. Anyway, I can appreciate those feelings of being alone.

You are not alone with feeling alone. And you can be real about what’s true for you here.

    😉

    Happy holidays. Glad you’re here.

How about coping with unemployment? Seems to be a familiar theme.

    Definitely not.

I was always good at reading and writing. Still am.

I also got A’s in school most of the time.

But it took me an entire day once to memorize a single unfamiliar phrase.

Excellent tips on keeping the markers separated. That is my downfall. They look the same.

Good for you on cleaning and making progress. I need to this as well, in order to sell my house, and make our remaining time there more comfortable. I’m inspired that you’re doing this.

Cool. I was thinking of getting a dry erase board – the corporate conference room size, or possibly a dry erase calendar in jumbo format. Then I could put post-its on it, or use the markers. The last dry erase calendar I had bit the dust because I accidentally used a permanent marker on it. Hate when that happens. Planners never work – the notebooks are like scribbles all over the page. And usually about unrelated bits of information.

My house looks like the inside of a dumpster. But that would be a different topic.

    Does anyone else do this?

I take notes about everything, and they end up in piles on my desk. Most of the notes are kind of dumb, but I need to make them.  Sometimes I file them in binders. I think I do this because I don’t have enough mental filing cabinets in my head.

But my desk looks like a tornado hit. The piles of notes are chaotic.

Sometimes it helps me to combine exercise with a purpose. Like gardening (which I don’t do, but others might), or commuting, walking the last mile instead of taking the bus, etc. Where it’s built in, not a separate activity.

    Anyway, go you!

    Hi, you guys.

On Friday I ended up walking a couple of miles because I had to go somewhere. For me, that’s the best way to get exercise – when there’s a reason. Like shoveling snow – but we don’t get snow here.

    @blackdog

That’s a good idea, the buddy system. That’s a situation where having a friend along would be nice. I feel a little bad if I come across as being that anti-social…it’s more a case of just getting overstimulated if I’m directly interacting with people for more than a couple of hours at a stretch. If they’re just around, and I don’t have to be in a conversation, it’s fine.

What could be cool is having a group, five to ten people to go out walking with, or whatever.

And right on, with it’s not a failure, it’s a first step. You’re damn right it is. Go, you!

I came over here to check in and see what others were doing, and when I found out I’m in the lead, I was so excited I had to go right out and go for a walk again. I like being in the lead. Woo hoo!

Seriously, my “vaporize obstacles” method these days is just that I’m so sick of obstacles I’m no longer willing to tolerate them. I have had it up to HERE. I’m SO DONE with this whole obstacles thing. I’ve decided to use my rage and general disgust with the world…as fuel to plot success as the best revenge.

    OK. I JUST DID IT.

I went out for half an hour and walked about fourteen blocks. Got my heart rate up and broke a light sweat. Wasn’t very far, I admit, but that’s all I have on my lunch break. Anyway, it’s a start.

Yup. I need to get cardio into my life. Probably by walking. My issue is living in a creepy neighborhood where I don’t feel safe. Recently a middle school student was raped in a public park not far from my house. It’s just not a nice place to be. We have a YMCA membership, but it’s hard to get there during a time window when four million other people are not there, and I hate working out around people, or even being around people. But walking, somewhere, seems like a good idea, that is part of me getting from one place to another, which I have to do anyway.

    I will if you will.
