Since i’v seen some musicians, singers, and comedians posting, lets have some entertainment too. Given our life issues, we need some serious fun. Some dancing might be fun too. Also, having more than more convention at the same time would enable us to connect through teleconferencing.

Shania Twain – Man! I Feel Like A Woman

On youtube, this song gives me a grin and makes me want to dance.

If your in a country with public help, ask about it.

First, get on food stamps RIGHT NOW! You might qualify, get in the car and go. Second, sell off everything you can part with on eBay and Craigslist. Find a 99cent store and Ross, do all your shopping there. There are good and bad values. Takes time to learn the tricks. Priority one is to stall for time. Also, I have lots of materials on small business creation.

I’v been micro-budgeting all my life. I’m a grandmaster at it. Ask me. :)

We all know what need in a convention. I suppose it should be run by ADHD people with great skills in organizing. As long as we cross check one another and make sure things get done. Don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m great at flying by the seat of my pants, improvising. I’v been planning to goto the improv in LA do the comedy routine I have. So, this would be good place also to try it out. Live theater also comes to mind for an event.

In addition, after all the educational stuff is done, lets have some fun as a reward! I was thinking have a video gaming contest, maybe some door prizes. Use one of those giant screens to see us gaming. I love to try a co-op on a level for Crysis, Oblivion live, and others with some fellow ADHD. By our nature, were really good at video games.

I love to sing. I’m been doing it since I was 17. Too bad I lack the auditory memory to be a singer. If I get depressed and want to feel better, I do it for a hour or two. It works well for a case of the blues.

    >Maybe reading for an hour or so before bedtime will help too.

Reading is really tiring to me. I’v used it to fall asleep myself many times.

I’v had this problem for a long time. Do deep breathing until you fall asleep.

This one is sounds crazy, but our bio-chemistry works slightly differently. Get drink like fruit punch(or some other flavor) that’s has sugar not corn syrup. Also, make sure it has no caffeine. Now, drink about 8oz just before bed. You made need more. It should calm you down. I’v used this for a long time and it works very well to put me to sleep.

I’v found when my blood sugar gets low, I get hyper. After a 16oz fruit drink(or lots of other flavors), i’m much more calmed down. The 99cent store has brands like that.

    >This is a lovely idea with one fatal flaw: Someone has to organize it.

Letting an ADHD person structure it would be a bad idea. However, a group of ADHD for the creative ideas would be great. They come up with the more unconventional ideas. Then let the “normal” people structure it according to our strengths and weakness. As to being late, it’s in our nature so we have to work with that, making a more loose schedule. Like I said, a traditional convention won’t work. Making sure people get there, lots of reminders in email and other ways up to the day of the event.

Also, I watched the PBS video, how I found this site. I was laughing at mirror image of myself. :-)

    >If this bothers you and you do want a meaningful, long-term relationship then it might be wise to go to a professional relationship counselor to discuss it. I don’t think many people here have expertise to advise on relationship issues that are rooted in psychology.

I disagree. Learning things in books is no substitute for real world experience. Those people are using there book learning and experience to help. However, you need to learn from the experiences of many others(wisdom). The more real world experiences you know about, the better you’ll be able to manage your relationships.

I’m been searching all my life for the my match. I kept finding no chemistry, got bored, and moved on. Recently, I thought about what was turning me off and what I wanted in a woman. I wrote it all down, what I wanted physically and mentally. I found none of the women that I met even came close to that list. I’d been settling for the first who I decent chat with. Society expects you to settle and there lies the problem. Remember that the romantic love rush wears off quickly, blinding you to the real person until then.

Make a list, examine it and see what you take out. Get it down to core what you want physically and mentally. Then find every place you can to meet women and chat and let it go from there. DON’T settle.

Also, female friends can be very useful for finding the person your looking for and fun. There are things you talk to women about that you can’t talk to other men about. Just don’t let them use you for an emotional dumping ground. That’s the boyfriends job. Make sure there is no sexual attraction going either way. State clearly you want just friends forever.

If you choose to response to this, read the whole article. I know it’s torture for an ADHD person, but you’ll under the context better.

Very young, I was immersed in mono-theistic belief like most people in the USA. When I entered my teen years, I began to explore to religion and spirituality. Constantly, I did the one thing you shouldn’t, question the beliefs. It never really took.

Lets define the difference between religion and spirituality. Religion is specific list of beliefs that can’t be questioned. Spirituality is free form where you explore beliefs finding the ones that suit you. Religion is typically modern western systems such as monotheism(christian) and ancient western systems(poly-theism), enlightenment from some outside source. Spirituality is typically eastern systems, Neo-Pagan/New age, and philosophy, enlightenment from within. There is a bit of grey area between them.

These things I found to be true about religion in general:

Thou shall not kill with the exception of another religion competing for followers, (un)holy wars.

Love all with the exception of another religion competing for followers.

It’s mythology, if it’s not my religion.

There is no respect of competing belief systems, arrogance about my beliefs. “We have to convert the heathens. Save their souls.”

Put simply, mine is better than yours, so nya.

    Religion practices pure hypocrisy.

Religion is pure pursuit of power, there is nothing noble about it

It’s controlling and manipulating people for the benefit of a few.

To question the authority of person in power, threatens the person in power

(brought these points up in philosophy class)

“Where religion reigns strong, horror soon follows.” Book: “Holy Horrors”

These beliefs have been used for mass murder at various points in history. The indirect or direct genocide of pagans in the dark and middle ages, known to modern pagans as the “Burning Times”. Any religion that doesn’t allow you to the question the authority of person in power is a dangerous cult.

Me personally, having ADHD made me explore my beliefs much more deeply. When I begin to explore pagan history using logic, I saw the truth, not the history written by mono-theistic culture. Pagan were the villains and mono-theistic the heroes. When the truth is very different, pagans were the victims and mono-theists were the villains of the story and history. When I made this realization, I saw they were hypocrites and the sheer volume of blood on their hands(most conservative estimate:100,000+ counted names). How history had been twisted or the truth covered in fog. How pagans/neo-pagans were and are treated as non-existent in the media in modern American society. They are to be converted in private, hassled, laughed at, and not taken seriously. So much for the first amendment to the constitution.

All once it hit me, I was horrified and started exploring other ways of looking at the world, spirituality. Then one day I watched one movie that changed my life forever. “Out on a limb”(1980’s), it was mind blowing. Everything in it made actually made sense. It opened my eyes to whole new world. I read every book I could find on the subject of “new age”/neo-paganism. Since this was spirituality, I could selectively accept or reject anything I read. I accepted some beliefs, rejected others. I finally found the peace I had searched for all my life. By the time I was 24, I was fully neo-pagan/new age. It has been an amazing journey. Also, I had found the tools that later helped me manage my ADHD.

Currently, I’m exploring my “brothers”, pagans, through a major website. It’s interesting to see how similar we are. How they had found their beliefs. The articles are great reading. “The myth of mono-theism” is next on my reading list. :-)

    >how insane the wait staff would be at the end of three days of herding us cats.

We would drive them crazy. Wouldn’t we? :D Imagine it, an audience nearly all ADHD. Seeing us trying to sit through a lecture. Seeing all of us zipping from booth to booth at light speed. A group of ADHD persons, conversation going at warp. ADHD people all standing in line. It would be an amazing experience and really funny to see ourselves mirrored. Also, we have to take into account our ADHD for any activities. The traditional activities at conventions would have be structured differently.

    >The funny thing is, while my life has been sooo difficult in the last couple of years, at least partly because of un-managed ADD, her opinion was that I did not have ADD, basically, I was not that “special”, everyone has these problems.

The job of the girlfriend/boyfriend or partner is to be supportive in your times of need. She wasn’t her doing her job. You are much better off without her. Being single can be rough, but remember the positive, no ones annoying habits to put up with in or out the home. :-)

I’m always loved metal. “Welcome to the jungle”, G&R Nothing like metal music to get that creative spirit.

Speaking of “relax”, I’ll add this one:

    “I touch myself”, Divinyls

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv-34w8kGPM ROFL

Laura Branigan did some really funny songs: “Take me”, “reverse psychology”. :)

    >The only interest you mentioned was sci-fi. The others are important to come to an agreement on, but being a sci-fi fan is the only thing there (aside from the spiritual aspect, though even that doesn’t need to match up with you for the relationship to work or be interesting) for which you might find a club and which can be classified as a “common interest” :-p

That’s the narrowed down list. You should have seen it before. ;) I have many different interests to chat about. Tried that many times. Settled for people who don’t match up. It stays in the “just friends forever” zone. I learned my life lesson, match up or move on. Still, having female friends can be interesting.

I have to update it. The religion can be pagan, neo-pagan, and eastern paths. There enough similarity to be good match. Quiet person is good too.

    >I think you’re too picky. Things like political and spiritual beliefs don’t have to match for the relationship to work. More important is knowing how to discuss them in an intelligent and mature way. Having someone whose beliefs don’t match yours exactly can help you grow as a person by challenging your views and forcing you to think about them in different ways.

Your totally wrong. “The only thing opposites attract is divorce.” If I want someone who i’m fighting with non-stop, no thanks. Also, you have to understand just how different those are from western main-stream religions. Like others, I can’t relate at all to them. If I were christian(mono-theist type religions), getting involved with another mono-theist religion wouldn’t be a big deal. With the others on my list, were similar enough for a match. Once I narrowed down the field, it was just a matter of internet searches. I already have possible groups to join.

Society expects you to settle and not be picky. Find someone, get together, get married, and breed. I’v never been a follower and I will never be one. I’m picky/selective and proud of it. To me, relationships are on the side, not the center. I’ll work hard at it and sooner or later i’ll find her.

Failure only makes victory all the more sweet.

    >Having a genius IQ doesn’t make you perfect; it is a measure for potential, not of how well you’re using it :-p

You misunderstand. That wasn’t a boast. I was just stating a fact about that affecting my choices.

    >The other thing is that going to an ADHD site hoping to find someone with something in common with you is a lot like going to a diabetes site hoping to find someone with something in common with you. It is possible that you’ll find someone you’re compatible with, but a diagnosed disorder not really a good basis for a relationship… :-p

Again, you are totally wrong. I’v found more in common with the people on here than i’v met in-person my whole life. If she exists, this is one possible website of many to find her. :)

To the admins, can you look into my dating profile idea?
